HOW TO BECOME A REFEREE
1. Complete the following form and save it to your computer using your FULL NAME as the document name. TRYOUT APPLICATION FORM
2. Email the form and any other documents relevant to applying for a job such as a resume to: STEVEN LEY
3. You will receive a confirmation email within 48 hours confirming receipt of your application
4. Attend the tryout event on:
TUESDAY AUGUST 14, 2012 @ 7:00 PM ELVIS STOJKO MEETING ROOM
(Tryout will be done between 10-10:30PM)
PLEASE BRING:
- Paper and a pen
- Full hockey gear for on-ice
5. If selected to be a member of the RHHRA you will be required to attend all monthly meetings as well as two on-ice development sessions designed to prepare you for the start of your officiating career.
6. You will be required to attend an OMHA new officials clinic and register with the OMHA as an on-ice official (Clinic dates are often not posted on the OMHA website until the beginning of September) The OMHA also offers a referee school which is the best way for a young official to learn the ropes. 7. You are now a fully certified and accredited On-Ice official and a member of the finest Officials development program in the OMHA
8. PLEASE WAIT TO BOOK YOUR CLINIC UNTIL YOU HAVE A CHANCE TO TALK WITH A MEMBER OF THE EXECUTIVE AS THEY CAN ASSIST YOU IN SELECTING THE BEST CLINIC FOR
